"Respect should be given those
indigenous nations who still carry on their ceremonies; still following
the ancient laws of nature with songs and ceremonies."
Oren R. Lyons, Spokesman
Traditional Circle of Elders The actual
experience of meditation and prayer across the centuries is, of course,
immense. The world's libraries and places of worship are a treasure trove
for all seekers. It is hoped that every A.A. who has a religious
connection which emphasizes meditation will return to the practice of that
devotion as never before. Twelve Steps & Twelve

A.A.W.S. Perhaps one of the greatest
rewards of meditation and prayer is the sense of belonging that comes to us. We no
longer live in a completely hostile world. We are no longer lost and
frightened and purposeless. The moment we catch even a glimpse of God's
will, the moment we begin to see truth, justice, and love as the real and
eternal things in life, we are no longer deeply disturbed by all the
seeming evidence to the contrary that surrounds us in purely human
affairs. We know God lovingly watches over us. Twelve Steps & Twelve
Traditions pg. 105 Reprinted with permission
