“I believe much trouble
and blood would be saved if we opened our hearts more.”
Chief
Joseph Nez Perce
For
if an alcoholic failed to enlarge and perfect his spiritual life through work
and self-sacrifice for others, he could not survive the certain trails and low
spots ahead. If he did not work, he would surely drink again, and if he drank,
he would surely die.

Resentment is
the "number one" offender. It destroys more alcoholics than anything
else. From it stem all forms of spiritual disease, for we have been not
only mentally and physically ill, we have been spiritually sick. When the
spiritual malady is overcome, we straighten out mentally and physically.
