I
started going to sweats. I started burning sweet grass and I started
believing...I think spiritual now. As I go through the day I try to be a
spiritual person. I don't make decisions based on selfishness and
self-will. It's a bit of AA philosophy and Indian
philosophy. Cree 1993 Faced with alcoholic destruction, we soon became as open
minded on spiritual matters as we had tried to be on other questions. In
this respect alcohol was a great persuader. It finally beat us into a
state of reasonableness. Big Book pg. 48 Perhaps there is a better way--we think so. For we are now on a
different basis; the basis of trusting and relying on God. We trust
infinite God rather than our finite selves. We are in the world to play
the role He assigns us. Just to the extent that we do as we think He would
have us, and humbly rely on Him, does He enable us to match calamity with
serenity. Big Book pg. 68 Grandfather show me the way to a spiritual life.
